BSR Stars S3 - Stimulating smart specialization ecosystem through engaging SMEs in open innovation processes  

Project summary 

The main objective of the BSR Stars S3 project is to enhance implementation of regional smart specialization strategies (RIS3) with focus on bio- and circular economy field. The project pilots methods that engage bio-/circular business, research and public stakeholders as well as enhance transnational cooperation opportunities. Participating regions are Skåne (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Tampere (Finland), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Sor-Trondelag (Norway).

Key activities:

- Public-research-business matchmaking events, business coaching, transnational pilot of eScience Gateway research-to-business tool, a transnational innovation voucher pilot focusing on bio- and circular test facilities and transnational smart specialization acceleration camp;

- Develop and pilot an online innovation management tool to enable real-time visualization of the innovation processes for the use of regional authorities and ecosystem actors;

- Study visits and policy recommendations.
