France Study Visit

2017 11 29On the first week of November 2017, „P2L2-Public Policy Living Lab“ project partners met in Bordeaux, in France. The  Study Visit was hosted by the Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Lithuanian Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA) is participating in this project together with Research and Higher Education Monitoring and Analysis Center (MOSTA)

During these days project partners from Bremen (DE), Denmark, Podkarpackie (PL), Piemonte (IT) and Lithuania had the opportunity to meet regional clusters and governance. The  panel debate was organized about the innovation ecosystem in Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

In addition, the project partners visited many companies: Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques (LCPO), Laboratory dedicated to polymers and printable electronic (ELORPrinTec),  Regional Center for technological Development in the fields of Advanced and Nanostructured Materials (CANOE), Stelia Aerospace Composites, Training center of the University of Bordeaux preparing students for life cycle management in aeronautics and transports (IMA Mérignac), AEC Polymers, Ariane Group (LICORNE unit), Catherineau, RT2I, Alphanov Optical and Laser Technology Center active in advanced materials sector.

During the working session, main characteristics as well as main challenges and improvement plans were presented by MITA and MOSTA representatives.  Innovation Voucher is the policy instrument selected by Lithuania for the improvement. This instrument was presented and analysed in the project.

During three days of intensive exchange, the partners identified good practices to become a benchmark inspiring policy improvements in the participating regions. After the study visit, visiting partners will process all the information received, provide input to the hosting partners case study for making real policy learning exchange.

During these days, project partners from Bremen (DE), Nouvelle Aquitaine (FR), Podkarpackie (PL), Piemonte (IT), Denmark and Lithuania had the opportunity to meet Danish stakeholders involved in the definition of the RIS3 strategy and beneficiaries of the Danish policy instrument addressed in the project (The Danish Cluster and Network Strategy). In addition, the project partners met representatives of the Danish Innovation Cluster for Production (Inno-Pro), Danish Materials Network (DMN), Danish Technological Institute (DTI), Nanoscience Center (Aarhus University) and industrial representatives (Advance Nonwoven, TERMA and LEGO Sustainable Materials Center) active in advanced materials sector.

During two and a half days of intensive exchange, the partners identified good practices to become a benchmark inspiring policy improvements in the participating regions. After the study visit, visiting partners will process all the information received, provide input to the hosting partners case study for making real policy learning exchange happen

Vilnius Study Visit

In April 2017, P2L2-Public Policy Living Lab project Partners met in Vilnius the framework of a Study Visit hosted by the Research and Higher Education Monitoring and Analysis Centre (MOSTA) and the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA). During these days, project partners from Bremen (DE), Nouvelle Aquitaine (FR), Podkarpackie (PL), Piemonte (IT), Denmark and Lithuania had the opportunity of sharing policy learning experiences around the Lithuanian Smart Specialization Strategy, their Operational Programme (2014-2020) and a concrete policy instrument (The Innovoucher).

During two and a half days of intensive exchange, the partners identified good practices to become a benchmark inspiring policy improvements in the participating regions. In addition, the project met representatives of policy makers and responsible organizations for the implementation of research and innovation strategies (agencies MITA and MOSTA), research (NIVC, FTMC, Naglis) and industrial representatives (Altechna, FTMC, EKSPLA, ELINTA) active in priority sectors like photonics or new materials from different innovation valleys.

After the study visit, visiting partners will process all the information received, provide input to the hosting partners for making real policy learning exchange happen.

Podkarpackie Study Visit

In November 2016, partners and stakeholders of the P2L2 project met in Rzeszów, Poland to discuss the status of the project, plan future activities and learn about the polish policy instruments. The meeting is part of a series of study visits to various partner locations across Europe.

Participants exchanged experiences on the Podkarpackie RIS 3 policy instrument with representatives of the regional ecosystems like the Aviation Valley Association and the Rzeszow Innovation Agency, one of the biggest clusters in Poland. The hosting partners offered a comprehensive overview on the best regional practices. The Podkarpackie Innovation Council and the Aviation Valley explained their connection with the regional strategy for advanced materials.

Partners visited research and production facilities of important players of the aviation valley like Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky a Lockheed Martin Company, the laboratories of the Rzeszow Technical University, Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park “AEROPOLIS” and a vocational training center that builds capacities and talent for the regional economy.
