We are pleased to invite you to the "Bio-based Industries Info day organized by the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA). We would like to bring together potential participants interested in the BBI JU 2018 Call for proposals.
The aim of the event is to promote the participation of Lithuanian representatives in the EU research and innovation program Horizon 2020 and to present the public-private partnership „Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking, BBI JU“ 2018 program, the main rules for the preparation and evaluation of proposals.
The event will be moderated by the professor Rimantas Venskutonis from Kaunas University of Technology. Welcome notes and introduction will be covered by dr. Inga Matijošytė, Lithuanian representative of BBI in the group of state representatives.
In this Info Day, BBI JU Project Officer Pilar Llorente will provide a general overview about BBI and the Annual Work Plan 2018, focusing on funding opportunities and key factors for a successful application.
Invited guests, Fabio Pereira (Germany), coordinator of the BBI JU project US4GreenChem, and one of the members of this consortium, prof. Habil Dr. Saulius Grigiškis (Lithuania) will share the best practices and present the success story.
The panel of this event includes also a presentation by Dr. Frederik De Bruyn (Belgium) about the BBI JU Coordination and Support ProjectPilots4U. He will invite representatives of the European biotechnology industry to discuss about the open access pilot and demonstration infrastructure. The innovations, current challenges and aspirations of the Lithuanian bio-industry will be reviewed by Albinas Zakarauskas, head of R&D Department at „AUGA Group“.
MITA staff will also be available to answer questions about the additional services for H2020 participants National Contact Point dr. Edita Bagdonaitė can assist in all steps of preparation the BBI JU proposal: advising on how to choose the right BBI JU topic, how to find partners, perform pre-reading of the proposal, and advise on how to improve it.
The information day is dedicated to participants from business, public and private sectors.
The event is free of charge, however, registration is required.
